Parking
Parking at the apartments (free). It is 50 km by car to the Prachov Rocks (about an hour).
Getting there from us
50 km by car from the apartments (about an hour). It is the most distant tip on the site – allow a full day.
Opening hours
Entry to the rock town is charged and out of season opening is limited – check prices and hours in advance.

About the trip

A rock town in the Bohemian Paradise, a completely different world from the Krkonoše ridges – instead of open plateaux, narrow ravines between sandstone towers, ladders and steps cut into the rock. Marked circuits of various lengths lead from the car park past viewpoints among the towers. A good full-day trip when you want a break from the mountains.

Personal tip from us

It is an hour each way, so make a full day of it, not an afternoon detour. The change of scene is worth it.

Tips

  • The circuits vary in length and can be chosen to suit your energy and your children.
  • The ravines stay cool even in the greatest heat – a good tip for a hot day.
  • It is busy on summer weekends; it pays to set off early.

Safety

  • The paths run over steps and ladders between rocks – unsuitable for pushchairs and for anyone with mobility difficulties.
  • Sandstone is slippery after rain.
  • 50 km each way – do not set off late in the afternoon.
