How to get there

Parking
Parking at the apartments (free). It is 26.8 km by car to the waterfall (about 44 minutes) via the border crossing at Harrachov, then a climb from the car park.
Getting there from us
26.8 km by car from the apartments (about 44 minutes). The road crosses the Harrachov–Jakuszyce border; bring your ID.
Opening hours
You pay twice: entry to the Karkonoski Park Narodowy and, separately, entry to the gorge below the waterfall (in 2025 that was 16 zł for a full-price ticket). Prices change every year and are paid in PLN – check them in advance.

About the trip

The highest waterfall in the Polish Krkonoše – 27 metres in three tiers, at an altitude of 846 metres. What makes it special is that you can descend right into the gorge below it on a path cut into the rock with a handrail. From the car park above Szklarska Poręba a broad forest track leads to the waterfall with a steady gentle climb.

Personal tip from us

Take some złoty in cash – the gorge ticket office may not take cards, and without a ticket you will not get below the waterfall.

Tips

  • A national park ticket alone is not enough here – the gorge is charged separately.
  • Combine it with Jakuszyce or Szklarska Poręba; the round trip is otherwise rather long for one waterfall.
  • The waterfall carries most water in the spring thaw and after heavy rain.

Safety

  • The path into the gorge is wet, slippery and narrow – sturdy footwear is essential.
  • The gorge is closed when the water is high and in winter.
  • This is abroad – bring identification and check that your travel insurance is valid.
