In autumn the Krkonoše empty out. No queue at the cable car, only a handful of people on the viewpoints above Rokytnice all morning, and the beech woods below the ridges turn gold. And when the weather turns, there is somewhere to shelter — and somewhere to come back and warm up.

Colours and long views
The beech woods below the ridges turn gold, the air is clear and the views are the longest of the year. The best light comes an hour before sunset.
A sauna when you get back
A cold day ends in the sauna in our building. In autumn that is the difference between “we did the walk” and “what a day”.
Easier dates and prices
Outside the main season rooms cost less and more dates are free. A long weekend can be booked a week ahead.
