How to get there

Parking
Parking at the apartments (free). You can drive 18.5 km (about 24 minutes) to Jakuszyce; the last stretch to Orle is for walkers and cyclists only.
Getting there from us
18.5 km by car from the apartments to Jakuszyce, then on foot or by bike. Orle lies on the cycling loop into the Jizera Mountains that we have on the site.

About the trip

A lone hut amid the Jizera Mountains peat bogs, on the site of a vanished glassmaking settlement. Cars are not allowed, so you can only get here on foot or by bike – and that is exactly what makes Orle one of the quietest places around. The path runs level along the Jizera and the border, on undemanding terrain.

Personal tip from us

This is a place you go to because there is nothing there. Take your time and do not rush back.

Tips

  • Cars cannot get here, so it stays quiet even in the school holidays.
  • It combines well with Jizerka or with our cycling loop into the Jizera Mountains.
  • In winter, cross-country tracks lead here from Jakuszyce.

Safety

  • The last stretch is car-free – factor that into your timing.
  • This is abroad – bring identification and check that your travel insurance is valid.
